System FAQ
q. How can I start relaying my emails through Impactia?
a. The relay changes are performed on your corporate's email server. The change are in the form of routing the server emails to the Impactia server instead of sending them to the Internet.
q. What are the changes that need to be done on my side in order to successfully relay my emails?
a. The changes are:
- Changing the email route to the Impactia server
- Adding the Impactia address to the DNS spf record
- If required, providing the routing rules in the corporate's Firewall
q. What is required in order to allow access to the web client?
a. If needed, providing HTTP (port 80) access to and from the corporate's network to the the Impactia server.
q. Anything else?
a. If the retrieval of additional data is required from resources such as LDAP, CRM and FTP, the corresponding rules should be allowed in the corporate's Firewall in order to provide such access.
q. What tools have I got as a system administrator?
a. The Impactia solution enables the administrator to control all aspects of the emails flow
starting from authorized email servers used by the organization and through defining a smart host for the outgoing email.
In addition, a traffic report will be provided to the administrator, enabling him to verify that all of the incoming
messages were processed and sent.
q. What kind of a fail-safe / high availability solution do you provide?
a. The Impactia solution is designed for environments where emails flow is a mission critical
resource that must maintain high availability. It is fully robust to allow automatic fail-over upon signs of trouble.
Additional servers may be added seamlessly to the architecture if the email volume increases and a larger computing power is
needed.
Fail-over: Depending on the type of email server you use, we are able to offer fault-resilient topologies.
For example, on an MS-Exchange environment, it is possible to deploy the Impactia solution so that it is
circumvented whenever MS-Exchange cannot communicate with the Impactia Enrichment Server. As a result,
even when fault occurs in Impactia Enrichment Server, the company's outgoing emails continue to flow uninterrupted.
q. How do I monitor what is going on outside my network?
a. The Impactia solution enables monitoring product performance, maintains detailed logging,
records system execution and provides online event viewing and tracking of each action made by each user, so that it can
be evaluated and/or reverted if needed.
The application offers many reports, graphs and charts, making the data visible to all tiers of the
organization.
q. Do I have to give you access to the corporate's CRM applications?
a. This is optional. To speed up the system setup, the Impactia solution comes with built-in adaptors that pull
your organization's sender and recipient lists from any CRM or HR application and import them into the Impactia
database.
This process can be scheduled to reoccur in every desired interval, allowing Impactia to keep
track of changes made in the organization's back office.
q. Am I not I risking my emails to be labeled as spam?
a. While the definition of 'spam' refers to the abuse of electronic messaging systems to indiscriminately send unsolicited bulk messages, Impactia leverages an already established one-to-one communication, providing additional styling to each email message.
q. Will Impactia delay my email delivery?
a. The overall overhead of the Rule and the Enrichment engines is only a couple of milliseconds, which means that the delay is quite negligible.
